Scrap Your Story Challenges!!!

Hi all!  Hope everyone is doing great.  I've been spending the past few days making new sketches, so no scrappy stuff to share today, but I do have some exciting news....A NEW SCRAPPY CHALLENGE BLOG!!!

There are tons out there that cater to card makers, but the layout challenges are beginning to dwindle sadly.  So it's awesome to have a new one joining the ranks to play along with.  I hope you'll all agree and pop over and take a look around, click follow even, and while you are there we are doing a give-a-away to help spread the word and a DT call!!!

Each week we will alternate between challenge types and once a month you will find one of my sketches as the starting point for inspiration!!  There will be a weekly top 3, a monthly prize to win, and lots of designers to inspire.  Tons of fun...don't miss out!!!

I created this fun little birthday mini album for her.  All of the photo mats are designed to hold 2.5x3.5 standard wallet photos (these can be printed at almost all 1hr photo stops) with a little edge to provide a nice mat.  All the paper is DCWV.  Each page has a spot for a photo of your favorite birthday memories and the back page has a spot for journaling.  It might even be fun to put pics from a birthday party in it and have your guests sign a spot on the journaling spot on the back!

Happy blogoversary to me!!!!  I can't believe that 3 years ago today, I started this blog as a place to document all my layouts I created to be able to share with family and friends near and far.  Since then, I have built a community of friends around me who all inspire each other and push us to our creative best!!  It has been a fantastic few years and I can't wait to celebrate many many more!  

As a thank you to everyone who has stuck by me in this journey and for those who jump aboard for the next year, I am offering up a goodie to one lucky reader.  There are several ways to enter.  You will get one entry for sharing this on your own blog, one entry for completing the challenge detailed below.  Please comment below leaving the link that you posted the giveaway.  Also comment leaving the link to your take on the challenge (these can be the same post on your blog and also they can be left in the same comment).  I will enter your name once for each task you complete.  This giveaway is only open to followers of my blog (current or new).

This weekend MTV will be throwing their annual bash to honor the greatest and latest musicians to rock our airwaves and to celebrate that we are having our first ever Scrap It With a Song BLOG HOP!!! My top 5 artists/groups are Linkin Park, Paramore, Journey, Michael Jackson, New Kids on the Block (yes...I went there HAHAHAHA) and because I can't stop at 5...The Rolling Stones. I chose Journey for this special project because they are a group I grew up listening to. I have so many great memories tied to their music so letting them inspire a project was easy. What are YOU doing for national scrapbooking day?? Well, I plan to spend the day scrapbooking my life away...YAY!!! Not that I need a special day marked on the calendar to do that, but it almost feels wrong to not be doing something crafty on that day...so at my scrap table you will find me come May 1st.

And here is my layout based on this sketch. I decided to scrap my favorite photo of each of my 3 kiddos and doing that just made me a big ole crybaby about the fact that they are growing up too fast. Even the baby that I swear was JUST born yesterday is going to be 3 months on the 1st!! :( So I thought the lyrics to this song by Billy Dean, 'Let Them Be Little' was so very fitting for how I was feeling.
